changing windows live interface language

so you have windows live essential installed using web installation.
now that sometimes screw up since it will install using the language your system is activated, so the language is not always what we used to.
So how to change the windows essential interface language?
it is simple, use the file named langselector.exe, that is installed with windows live 2011 and 2012.
just go to start menu and in the search column, type the file. (in xp it is run menu).
Just make sure that you close all windows live essential programs before the change can be activated.

Installing windows live in WIndows Server

Now still with windows live, here I stumble another problem. I use email with windows server. and you know what? Windows live doesn’t support windows server, go figure…
and also since I use remote desktop, windows live mail won’t open if you remote desktop open the windows live mail if in another connection you already open windows live mail.

Back to the main issue, wlsetup.exe file will refuse to install if refuse to install, showing this window:

DEP on EXPLORER.EXE

It has been plagued the computer for several years, the strange thing is that we cannot predict on what windows installation this Data Execution Prevention on Windows Explorer happened. some pop up some don’t.
Firstly we tough that is because we didn’t update the windows, so we do, but the thing happened again.

Hiding Control Panel Components

This is another group policy setting. You can hide the control panel component.
first, open the group policy, this time we can use the command prompt, just type gpedit.msc.
now go to USER CONFIGURATION > ADMINISTRATIVE TEMPLATES > CONTROL PANEL.
here You’ll find hide specified control panel applets.

Formatting USB flash disk to NTFS format.

Hi guys,
this is just a quick tip, you know since the usb flash disk have grown in size, so it is able to hold a very large data.
Now the default format for the flash disk is fat32, normally you cannot change that. exfat also available but the format is not widely supported because of the need of licensing.
Now since the growing of the size, the fat format becomes a problem, because it cannot hold a single large file (must have below 4gb file size), you must split the file into not so big sized files. extfat can accept large data but again it is not widely supported by devices, and it is slower than fat32.

Manual quick start for Apache, PHP and ORACLE configuration in Windows OS

Once upon a time, in one of the class I attended, the lecturer while tinkering with the laptop, ask us in an off handed manner, if we know why the oracle express she installed cannot be connected to her program. It hit me then that several years back I had had hard time to do that, and just recently “enlighten” that different with other databases, like mysql when you installed its dbms, you can connect it right away from php, this oracle in order for it to be able to connect to the program need to have the client installed in order for php to be able to recognize the oracle.
