it happened when my director laptop need to be downgraded to xp. he got sony vaio vgn-sz433n.
so i install the xp pro after downloading all the necessary drives and tools for xp.
everything went smoothly, all driver installed so no more “other devices” showed in device manager.
but when my boss used it he said that the fn key was not working for the projector but it is fine for other functions.

have you been wondering to see when we stop the service manually using services.msc it takes forever?
according to m$ it said because the automatic service started before lanmanserver.
you can check this in the even viewer if it is showing these error:

well my company has oracle 8i, and up until now we never turn on firewall in our intra network. but things got complicated when the worm named kido start to crawl our network. so we take policy to turn on the firewall.
but of course the first time we turn it on the oracle db cannot be connected: TNS-12535 TNS:operation timed out from other computer even though we already put an exception on post 1521 and only accept own network ip range. Continue reading
i have norton 2009 installed through installation cd to an xp computer, but when i tried to activate it, it could not connect to norton server for activation.
like always i google it and went to symantec norton forum and there i found the answer, i need to remove the folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Norton0000082
but since application data folder is hidden folder, i got problem since the option in explorer was somehow could not be changed, so i guessed it was because of unclean removal of malware. so i opened the regedit, browsed to value: Continue reading
I got this problem lately, so like usual I looked in the openvpn.log file and I found this line:
c:\windows\system32\route.exe
and it said it could not find the file, of course it could not find the file because the windows directory in server is winnt.
so like always I googled for the error, and I found out that i need to add a line in client.ovpn file which is:
win-sys env
can you believe it, today in 2010, i still installing windows 98se!
this happened because the tax program that can only works in native DOS.
but since its been years ago that i last installed this OS, i haven’t met this problem i encounter today:
